American Idol

The other day I watched American Idol for the first time in my life. Of course I knew about the show ever since it first aired on national television. I have seen clips of some of the weird things people do on this show but I never had any interest in spending an hour watching people trying to audition for a chance to go to hollywood and become rich and famous if they make it far enough.

So…The show came on and I was bored therefore, I decided to leave it on that channel and see what really American Idol was all about. I think this show is ridiculous. American Idol shows a bunch of untalented people that can’t sing and do anything in order to be on national television. I  know perhaps that is what makes people watch this show- The fact that stupid people do stupid things- but I just think it is stupid to have these people with no talent what-so-ever  audition for it.

I was wondering if they pay these people to come on the show and act stupid just for the sake of making it interesting and somewhat funny. I thought it would be better to have them audition before going on TV and perhaps have an array of talented people compete for a chance to become celebrity. I thought the competition would be more interesting and more competitive.

I agree with you Morel the Blogger! American Idol’s audition process must be merely for entertainment purposes. Once the hopefuls are chosen, the competition begins. The show’s producers have found a way to keep the show interesting after many years by showing the audience the behind-the-scenes process, blowing up a couple people such as Susan Boyle, etc. You gotta hand it to them for that! Was Lady GaGa an American Idol reject?? :-)
