A few weeks ago I thought the economy was back on track. It has been well over a year since the economy took a major devastating blow on many hard working Americans. I was very happy to see that the number of people applying for unemployment had dropped, not much but enough to say that we were in a better situation than last year. In addition, is a fact that the last thing that recovers after an economic downturn is unemployment.
This week the stock market has been down over 400 points. That is a lot. It makes it seem as if we are right back where we started a year and a half ago. As a young investor I should not be too worried because history has it that the stock market always rebounds. But I am. I am very sympathetic of the many hard working Americans that lost their Jobs during this recession. Furthermore, I am even more compassionate of those who not only lost their jobs but their home and their life savings. Not to mention that many of those people devastated by it were middle age to the elderly. People that have been building their savings throughout the course of many years in order to someday retire.
I hope that everyone who lost their savings, home, job, etc soon see some light at the end of the tunnel.
